Experience Everest Basecamp
Tue, 15th Nov 2016Have you ever wondered what it's like to trek through the biggest mountains in the world? To walk in the historic footsteps of legends? We've attempted to capture a glimps of what you'll experience when you come with us to explore this incredible place.
PART 1
In part one of our story, we're introduced to Impulse Adventures and our team heading up to Everest Basecamp. We explore some of the sighs and get a little insight into the city of Kathmandu, the gateway to the Nepali Himalaya and the launching site of all of our Nepal adventures. We see some of the devastation from the 2015 earthquake and learn how we can help.
Part 2
Ready, set, go! We take off from Kathmandu on board our tiny plane to Lukla, high up in the mountains. The flight is short on time but definitely not on breathtaking scenery. The trek begins in style and comfort walking along the floor of the valley by the powerful Dhud Kosi river, over the famous suspension bridges, and up through the giant pine forests as we slowly ascend up to Namche Bazaar.
Part 3
A day around Namche. Today our friends head out for an acclimation day! We gain as much altitude as we can to expose our bodies to the harsh environment and then descend back down to the lower reaches to sleep. Repeating this process of the expedition a few times maximises our bodies ability to adjust to high altitudes.
Part 4
Reaching for Everest. Hard work, emotion, tears, happiness, success. Sit back and continue on the journey as our team reaches their objective and realises it to be much more than they anticipated.

Recreate the journey you've just watched and follow in the footsteps of history as you ascend the Khumbu Valley and reach the base of the highest mountain in the world!
Everest Basecamp, Gokyo Lakes and the Cho La pass.
If you have a bit of extra time, explore more of this amazing region with this expedition. We take a detour up the Gokyo Valley to visit the stunning sacred lakes, enjoy the views from the top of Gokyo Ri and cross the Cho La Pass before reaching EBC.
Everest Basecamp and Island Peak
Follow in the footsteps of the greatest climbers in the world to Everest Basecamp, then head over to Island Peak Basecamp for your own introductory Himalayan climbing expedition. This trip is for those who want to test themselves a little further and give mountaineering a try. You should be fit and stable on your feet, but no previous climbing experience required!
